What are the steps to configure 2 mail domains on different hosts

Hi there,

I have 2 hosts on a network ( two separate web servers, for example 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.2.10 )
each of these hosts has it's own domain (for example mail.host1.com , mail.host2.com)
What is the steps in order to make both hosts users able to send email to each other ? I mean John@mail.host1.com wants to send an email to Sarah@mail.host2.com .

Should I really setup a DNS server in each host ? I don't know where should I start from and what to search for !
Thanks

Why is this account saving a copy of forwarded mail?

The default record in vmail/forwardings for an account added in iRedAdmin is as follows:

address forwarding domain dest_domain is_forwarding active
user1@domain1.com user1@domain1.com domain1.com EMPTY 1 1

SQL: User mail forwarding implies that if you set up forwarding, email is *not* saved in the account by default, and you have to set it up explicitly if you want that. However, despite the fact that I have set up forwarding for user@domain1.com as follows, email is being saved in its account.

address forwarding domain dest_domain is_forwarding active
user1@domain1.com user2@domain2.com domain1.com domain2.com 1 1

Do I understand the documentation incorrectly? Do I have to explicitly disable saving email in the account? Forwarding is working correctly, but mails are being saved in user1@domain1.com.

Hello Zhang,
After manually disabling the ssl for connection to mysql server the error is gone. Thank you.

Strangely it came about after the update of the mysql server which then defaulted to connect via ssl without any changes to configuration made.

That makes sense, but when is "enough". In the log it now says "only 3 spam(s) in bayes DB < 200" - But I have 500 mails in my spam folder, and at least half of them have been manuel moved from the inbox - and by then forced learning.

Is the "3 spam(s)" a count for something else than mails?

Hi there,

I'm considering setting up an iRedMail server to use as an "inbound mail gateway" which forwards all messages to Gmail.

https://support.google.com/a/answer/60730

How would this be configured in iRedMail?

On my FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE-p3 #0 .../GENERIC amd64 with file-5.34
I see:

# file -b -L --mime-type /usr/local/lib/liblzo2.so
application/x-sharedlib
# /usr/bin/file -b -L --mime-type /usr/local/lib/liblzo2.so
application/x-sharedlib

that seems right.

But on bash iRedMail.sh I still see this:
...
Installing icu-62.1_2,1...
===>   postfix-3.3.1_1,1 depends on shared library: libicuuc.so - not found
*** Error code 1

make[1]: stopped in /usr/ports/mail/postfix
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make: stopped in /usr/ports/mail/postfix
<< ERROR >> Port was not successfully installed, please fix it manually and then re-execute this script.

And it happens regardless of whether or not icu-62.1_2,1 (and even postfix) has been installed.

Hi there

I'm having issues upgrading my iRedMail from version 0.9.7 to version 0.9.8.

We've been using iRedMail for many years now, but it seems that we are missing something on this update.

When I check the upgrade instructions here:
https://docs.iredmail.org/upgrade.iredm … 0.9.8.html

It says that I have to upgrade iRedAPD first. That's done. After that, I should upgrade Upgrade iRedAdmin (in our case, iRedAdmin-Pro), and this is when it gets confusing.

When I execute the upgrade script for iRedAdmin-Pro, I get a message saying the following:

<<< ERROR >>> No mlmmjadmin installation found (/opt/mlmmjadmin).
<<< ERROR >>> Please follow iRedMail upgrade tutorials to the latest
<<< ERROR >>> stable release first, then come back to upgrade iRedAdmin-Pro.
<<< ERROR >>> mlmmj and mlmmjadmin was first introduced in iRedMail-0.9.8.
<<< ERROR >>> https://docs.iredmail.org/iredmail.releases.html

There are no instructions anywhere about this and if I go to https://docs.iredmail.org/iredmail.releases.html, it clearly states that "you do NOT need to download the latest iRedMail and run the script."

So I'm a bit lost here. What are the steps I should take to upgrade versions?

Thanks in advance for your help

Dear Hurdlebuoyancy and potential buyer:

I need to remind you that the license owner will remain to be the old license owner if you didn't ask us to change it, that means if the buyer bought from you, when the buyer requests a new download link, the download link will be sent to current license owner which is your email address, not the buyer.

Hi Zhang,

Is there a possibility of getting an email alert once throttle limit reached 90% ? Thus any account reaching 90% of threashold value triggers an email to an admin/admins (entered email) ?

This would be very helpful !

Hi Community,

yesterday I manually updated my iRedmail installation from 0.9.5-1 to 0.9.8 following all the steps in the seperate upgrade tutorials.

I went:
0.9.5-1 -> 0.9.6 -> 0.9.7 -> 0.9.8 performing all the steps described.

Maybe I did an error or missed a step, but today I have the problem that I am not able to send out emails anymore.
Problem seems to be related with postfix and amavisd, but I cannot figure out where the problem is.

this is the output of postconf -n:
