  • As far as I am concerned, the only thing iRedmail need is the cert+key, not the fullchain. They should all be valid.

  • - If you're sending email from localhost (iRedMail), this should be fine.
    - Best option: send email with SMTP authentication.

Could you try again and extract the log?

I was just looking for a way to work around the warning message which MXToolbox is generating about the mismatch between the mail server's CNAME and the SMTP banner.  MXToolbox says it is not an error, it is a warning.

It's very common that one server serves many mail domains, so this warning doesn't matter.

I just want to repeat myself: "After email left your server, it's not under you control. You cannot tell others how to treat your email. So it's normal that it goes to Spam/junk folder, even you have correct DNS records, DKIM signing, etc."

You send normal email, no any spamming content, but, again, you don't control other's server. They don't always act as you wish.

However, I cannot connect to the mail server via imap/smtp after this. Does iRedmail support wildcard SSL?

Back to your issue: what do you mean "cannot connect" here?

Btw, would you like to purchase the iRedAdmin-Pro license again since i already refunded the payment few days ago? smile

  • When connection through mac client or ios client, it says the verification of the user has failed despite entering the correct password.

I have never purchased the pro account so I have no idea what is going on. As a student, I probably won't need the pro features yet. Would definately support this program when I'm financially independent!

What's the related error in Dovecot log file?

Oops, my mistake, sorry. The buyer has same name as your forum name. I apologize.

Should I fix this on the client or server side? (I didn't use aliases or maillists)

    Client side.

  • Also, if I want to disable dovecot pop3, I just go to /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf and then change protocols to
    protocols = imap sieve lmtp
    Right?

What is LMTP used for? Local mail transport?

I ran the initial installation leaving out the Nginx option...
I'm now thinking to change my mind, and wished I had installed those Nginx components!

Can I re-run the installer to add, or will that screwup the Postfix and Dovecot stuff which is working fine.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for support but this option is totally different from what I'm looking.
It will give aliases (address book) additionally from Global Address Book.

What I'm looking is sender email address + assigned aliases.
    this is related to MailFieldNames.
Originally it configured: "MailFieldNames = (mail);"
what I'm looking for is something like this:  "MailFieldNames = (mail, aliases);"

If you know how the actual configuration should look like please share you knowledge.

    Sorry i misunderstood this.

But the implementation is very similar: change the sql table name to "forwardings", change the sql columns you need to query.

    Try this:

    - Open file iRedMail-0.9.8/config, add one line:

    export WEB_SERVER='nginx'

    - Re-run iRedMail installer.

WARNING: it reads file iRedMail-0.9.8/runtime/install.status to understand what's installed and what's not, if you don't have this file, do NOT do this.
