Thank you, I know that. I'm wondering, Is it possible to find these files somewhere in the server, not user's mailbox? Like received emails' files under "cur" directory.

I see the subject, sender e-mail and date in log. I hope, maybe the message is being kept as a file

    Thanks!

Weirdly, there is no dovecot.sieve or dovecot.sievec in that directly; only dovecot.svbin, which contained the contents above.

If I go into SoGo and recreate the vacation reply, dovecot.sieve is placed into that directory, with the vacation sieve rule and, if I disable the vacation reply, dovecot.sieve is removed.

So it looks like dovecot.svbin somehow became corrupted / left over unnecessarily.

From the automatic updates log, i see that the following packages were updated:

no sir I made sure of this per your documentation.  please see below:

    Hello Zhang,
also pls double check what happens with forwardings that have destination domain similar to domain in iredmail database. Deleting that domain leads to deleting all forwardings where is that domain present. (not creating new topic, sry)

I have 2 servers. Iredmail versions are the same.

  • 11/22/18--09:02: iRedMail future - OS support
  • Hello,

I have questions about the future of iRedMail from the point of view of operating systems support.
I personally used my own system that I created using OpenLDAP, Postfix, Dovecot, RoundCube, and so on.
So I do not have the problem to continue using OpenLDAP, but I'm thinking about going to SQL.

RHEL8 will no longer include OpenLDAP, so it will not have guaranteed support for 10 years.
(While it is true that 10 years in the case of iRedMail are only theoretical, because the support for CentOS 6 has been canceled for new installations - https://forum.iredmail.org/topic14077.html Dropped distribution releases: RHEL/CentOS 6)

Therefore, CentOS 8 users will have to deal with the transition to either the OpenLDAP package from EPEL if will exist or will have iRedMail's own OpenLDAP package similar to the one now available with e.g. dovecot? https://dl.iredmail.org/yum/rpms/7/

    I found: https://forum.iredmail.org/topic13706-s … ation.html
    For iRedMail-0.9.7, we have 5152 CentOS-7 installations, but 2264 CentOS-6 installations.

Is there any statistics for real numbers of iRedMail operating systems?
And how is the SQL vs. LDAP ratio?

Are your recommendations at https://forum.iredmail.org/topic13377-i … stall.html preferential or sorted by alphabet? The answer is over a year old, so what would it be now with regard to the future as we already know about the end of OpenLDAP support in RHEL8?

    I have also noticed an unresolved switch to slapd.d: https://bitbucket.org/zhb/iredmail/issu … -to-slapdd
So LDAP may be less well represented and much less used.
(I'm still using slapd.conf too and just because slapd.d I'm considering switching to SQL. But working with LDAP is still more familiar to me, so maybe I still have the last little chance to stay with OpenLDAP.)

What is your opinion and recommendation?

    - OpenLDAP is very important for many companies, we definitely will continue support OpenLDAP in CentOS 8.
    - We expect EPEL will offer RPM packages, if it doesn't, we will try to use some other trusted yum repo instead.

For iRedMail-0.9.8 (deployment times / distro):

    17782 UBUNTU-xenial-16.04
    10149 RHEL-centos-7
    9074 UBUNTU-bionic-18.04

    1085 FREEBSD
    308 RHEL-rhel-7

    For backends:

    47293 mysql
    24151 openldap
    12773 pgsql
    SiTD wrote:

    - My recommendation is always the same: choose the one (backend) you're familiar with.
    - As mentioned above, we will try our best to deliver OpenLDAP support in RHEL/CentOS 8. if you want to switch to SQL backend just because of OpenLDAP package not offered by RHEL officially, i think it's not necessary.

OpenLDAP is a great OSS, it's lightweight, stable, easy to configure and manage, great performance, i don't think it's that easy to replace by 389 Directory Server. I personally treat the removal from RHEL/SUSE as a marketing strategy, for them to get more clients on 389DS.

    Zhang,

Thats how it was installed by you when you done the iRedAdmin-Pro upgrade for me.

But I will do as you suggest and report back.

Some time later....    YES! It is now banning IP addresses picked up by the pregreet rule.

Any suggestions on how to get the email action back ?

    Regards,

    Robert

    Hi,
    readed manual for update https://docs.iredmail.org/migrate.or.up … admin.html
and I have confusion becouse I should update my installation version by version, but in url which is mentioned in installation https://dl.iredmail.org/yum/misc/ the freshest version is
    iRedAdmin-0.9.2.tar.bz2    2018-11-03 19:48    388K
then how I can go to version 0.9.8?
from where I can download update package for
    0.9.5
    0.9.5.1
    0.9.6
    0.9.7
    0.9.8

    And perhaps because of this:
    https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2440481
389-ds:  The package is not supported as a stand-alone solution to provide LDAP services.

They focus on single products and not alternatives. Similarly, they will cancel KDE. But this is off-topic now.

It will also be interesting to wait for accurate information on Ubuntu's 10 year support. Probably ESM. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1093582 … rt/1093956

Package slapd is in 'main' section of Ubuntu repositories - so better security and bugfix support like EPEL (???)

    Hi,

So i added a user to blacklist using iRedAPD:

    python /opt/iRedAPD-2.2/tools/wblist_admin.py --add --blacklist [redacted]@gmail.com

some time ago and today I see mail from that same user in my SPAM folder, so I have two questions:

    1) what does --blacklist actually do? Does it reject emails? If not, what should I use to reject emails? I don't want them in my SPAM or nowhere.

    2) if I grep [redacted]@gmail.com either in /var/log/mail.log or /var/log/iredapd/iredapd.log I get 0 results, but if I use "view all headers" in my mail client I will see X-Original-Sender: [redacted]@gmail.com - does that mean it went by iRedAPD because there was no [redacted]@gmail.com in logs (and ended in SPAM for other reasons)? How can I blacklist (reject) based on X-Original-Sender?

    Thanks!

    Hello all!

Among all my customers we are getting many "Insurance" spam mails.
These mails are all well made and do not match the classic spam patterns and do not match DNSBL.

This causes a standard iRedMail installation with Spamasassin, Amavis, Graylisting etc. to actually pass these mails to our customers.

We are talking about dozens of emails per day per mailbox which are making their way though the spam filter.

What can be done to fight these spam emails?

    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Bernhard

    Hello!

On some installations we are using iRedMail as proxy for incoming email and web reverse-proxy for Exchange.

This allows the use of free Let's Encrypt certificates and caching of email if Exchange is down for maintenance. Eventually adding a level of security by not exposing Exchange directly to the Internet.

Now, we are observing that the mail queue of the iRedMail server is getting populated by spam. These spam emails are not sent from the inside Exchange as that is a new installation.

It started when we put the system online.

It looks very much to be being backscatter spam.

Question: What needs to be done in order to solve that problem? I do not want my email queue being full of trash.

Deleting the mail queue regularty is my current approach but this does not solve the problem.

    Help would be very appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Bernhard
