When the internet connections is down (due to technical issue, for example) if I try to send emails, I get an error due to postfix that it can't verify the existence of destination's domains:

Sep  7 15:09:31 server-centos postfix/smtpd[5779]: connect from unknown[192.168.200.228]
Sep  7 15:10:31 server-centos postfix/smtpd[5779]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[192.168.200.228]: 450 4.1.2 <helpdesk@myisp.com>: Recipient address rejected: Domain not found; from=<matteo@mydomain.it> to=<helpdesk@myisp.com> proto=ESMTP helo=<[192.168.200.228]>
Sep  7 15:11:05 server-centos postfix/smtpd[5779]: disconnect from unknown[192.168.200.228]

Now I must save the outgoing email to "Draft" and wait that my isp solves the issue: Is possible to configure postfix to put emails in queue and let it try to send the messages later?
Why is not the default behavior?

Re: FreeBSD ports update

Synopsis
FreeBSD is under constant development between releases. Some people prefer to use the officially released versions, while others prefer to keep in sync with the latest developments. However, even official releases are often updated with security and other critical fixes. Regardless of the version used, FreeBSD provides all the necessary tools to keep the system updated, and allows for easy upgrades between versions. This chapter describes how to track the development system and the basic tools for keeping a FreeBSD system up-to-date.

After reading this chapter, you will know:

Which utilities are available to update the system and the Ports Collection.

How to keep a FreeBSD system up-to-date with freebsd-update, Subversion, or CTM.

How to compare the state of an installed system against a known pristine copy.

How to keep the installed documentation up-to-date with Subversion or documentation ports.

The difference between the two development branches: FreeBSD-STABLE and FreeBSD-CURRENT.

How to rebuild and reinstall the entire base system.

Before reading this chapter, you should:

Properly set up the network connection (Chapter 31, Advanced Networking).

Know how to install additional third-party software (Chapter 5, Installing Applications: Packages and Ports).

No Zhang,

Nothing is added or amended in configuration from last year, we even did not updated our iRedMail server from 0.8.3 to 0.8.4 to 0.8.5 to avoid major issues in live environment but this started suddenly that other domain users not getting E-mails sometimes and some are getting one email and second is not getting. I checked maillogs but nothing unusual found as everything shows normal so thought to raised issue on forum to get some idea.

Well, it's hard for us to help troubleshoot without related log.

*) If not log in all log files, especially in Postfix, then maybe sender server didn't contact your mail server at all, or it's blocked/rejected/discarded by your firewall/router/etc.
*) If sender server connected to your server, there must be some log in Postfix log file. if so, please try to extract related log.

What's the value of @altermime_args_disclaimer in Amavisd config file?

Seems AlterMIME is not under active development, according to its web site (http://www.pldaniels.com/altermime/), the latest version (0.3.10) was released on November 16, 2008. If it doesn't work as described in its manual/doc, we have no idea at all. And its Pro edition was discontinued: http://pldaniels.com/altermimepro/

I have the same problem and I have no idea what I should do to add an outgoing email signature on a per user basis. I need the signature to appended like disclaimer is doing using. Disclaimer is inserted from amavisd-new. How can I insert signature per user stored on LDAP? If anyone has implemented this will appreciate if can share the ideas or how to.

No. Currently, not many users watch/track iRedMail on BitBucket directly, so no users vote for those open issues.

Hi djbahati1,

*) OpenBSD 5.3 has this issue, and you have to fix it manually by executing command i mentioned in my reply #16.

*) OpenBSD doesn't update binary packages of ports tree for -release or -stable branch, so you cannot expect OpenBSD 5.3 to fix this issue. Next release of OpenBSD, 5.4, will have this issue fixed.

Remove "reject_unknown_sender_domain, reject_unknown_recipient_domain, " in Postfix parameter "smtpd_recipient_restrictions", restart Postfix service, then try again.

Hi djbahati1:

1) Please post your question in a new forum topic, do not hijack other's topic.
2) The latest RC release of Amavisd, 2.8.2-rc1, has a new LDAP attribute (amavisDisclaimerOptions) which is used to store per-user disclaimer options, you can try it on a testing machine.

As far as i know, Amavisd-new-2.8.0 supports this LDAP attribute, but the LDAP scheme file provided by Amavisd doesn't have this attribute, you can manually add this attribute and it should work as expected. Here's related discussion in Amavisd mailing list:

Re: Can't acces RoundCube from IE!!!

I have the same issue with RoundCube and IE8.  When I get the error if I put my cursor in the address bar at the end of the URL and hit enter the page will load and I can use RoundCube.  It's just annoying for the users to have to do that and I have to instruct them on what to do.  I was hoping there was a fix for this.  I think it happens in other browsers too.
