Hello, Everyone!!
I have set up a new fresh installation (with lets encrypt certificate pointing to mail.someotherdomain.com) as local server that will host 10 users or so. the main point this servers has to be used as a smart host to relay the internet facing emails of the domain so my hosting will not ban account for sending to much email,
some years ago this was done by having sasl_passwd file
user1@serverpro.mx user1@serverpro.mx:SecretPassword
and by adding on main.cf
smtp_sender_dependent_authentication = yes
smtp_sasl_security_options = noanonymous
smtp_sasl_type = cyrus
smtp_sasl_mechanism_filter = login
smtp_always_send_ehlo = yes
smtp_use_tls = yes
smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes
smtp_sasl_password_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd
relayhost = [mail.serverpro.mx]:587
and that worked.
now i did this and configured thunderbird email client to point to mail.someotherdomain.com with port 587
starttls
normalpassword
user1@serverpro.mx
this is the massage the user gets
